Frequently Asked Questions for Winter 2024-2025 Season

 

  • How long is registration open for the Winter season?

    • Registration opens Friday, October 4th, and closes on Friday, February 14th.

    • Our teams fill up extremely fast. We strongly recommend you register immediately.

    • You are only considered registered if you have completed the registration process, your player’s USA Lacrosse membership is up to date (through at least February 14th), and the registration fee is paid in full.

  • What is the registration fee for the winter season?

    • Registration fee is $400 per participant, the same price as the past 2 years!

    • Registration fee includes a yard sign (if desired), and a Jets Lacrosse sticker.

    • Registration fee covers the costs associated with team and program, indoor facility use, equipment purchases (including balls, cones, practice equipment, league registration fees, referee payments, field permits, coaching and coaching education expenditures, and other Administration costs.)

  • Who can sign up for the session?

    • Winter sessions are open to ANYONE (K-8th grade) who would like to join! Boys and girls are welcome to play in the winter session. 

  • What ages/grades do you have teams for?

    • Jets lacrosse offers winter programs for players in first through eighth grades. Occasionally, we do allow kindergarteners to play on a first grade team if there is space. Players of all experience (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) are welcome to register.

  • What does a typical practice look like?

    • Our winter sessions are designed for kids to build skills and have FUN!

    • Each practice is 60 minutes long. 30 minutes are for skill building, 30 minutes are for games (inter squad scrimmage or other fun games).

  • When does the season start and how long does it go?

    • We have 2 age groups for our winter program. 

      • Kinder-4th grade will run from Monday, November 4th through Friday December 20th (No practices over Thanksgiving break).

      • 5th-8th grade will run from Monday, January 6th through Friday, February 14th.

  • How are players/teams placed in divisions?

    • The winter program places athletes based on their grade. K-2 are together, 3rd+4th are together, 5th+6th are together, and 7th+8th are together. 

  • When and where do Jets teams practice?

    • Practices are held twice a week at TOCA (2400 Central Park Blvd, Denver, CO 80238)

    • Practices are alternating Mondays (5:00-6:00) and every Friday (5:00-6:00 or 6:00-7:00).

    • Each group is scheduled to have 9 total practices during their session.

  • What equipment is each player required to have?

    • All players are required to provide their own personal equipment – lacrosse stick, helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, cup, and mouthpiece.

    • Cleats are not required, however, we strongly recommend your player wear cleats to all practices.

    • Jets Lacrosse may be able to loan or swap equipment if needed.

  • Does my player's age need to be verified?

    • Your athlete’s age should be automatically verified when registering. All players must have valid USA Lacrosse memberships, which verifies your age.

    • If you have issues with the USA Lacrosse age verification process for your player, please go to https://www.usalacrosse.com/

    • If you are unsure if you have been through this process, or need assistance, you may contact US Lacrosse at (410)235-6882, extension 102.

  • What benefits do I receive from a USA Lacrosse (USAL) membership?

    • All players and coaches are required to be current USAL members. As a prerequisite for participation in the winter Jets lacrosse program, all players must be current USAL memberships (membership must be valid through at least February 14th, 2025)

    • USA Lacrosse provides important Safety Research, rules guidelines (youth, high school, and professional) and coaching development programs.

    • Each USA Lacrosse member receives supplemental insurance, a subscription to Lacrosse magazine, how to videos, articles and clinics for players, coaches and officials, discount tickets for college and professional game, and more. Click here for a list of all USA Lacrosse membership benefits.

    • For more information on being a US Lacrosse member, or to purchase or renew membership, please go to USALacrosse.com. When you reach the “group information” page on the USA Lacrosse site, please check the box next to “Jets Lacrosse”.

  • What email address will I receive communication at?

    • All communication throughout the Jets registration process and winter season will be sent to the email address you provide at the time of registration. Please use your primary email address for registration and verify the accuracy before you submit your registration.

    • Jets Lacrosse uses the Sports Connect/Stack Team app for scheduling and communication during the season.

  • What is the refund policy?

    • A refund request must be sent to [email protected]

    • A $25 administrative fee for any program is nonrefundable.

  • Do you offer scholarships?

  • We do provide scholarships to qualifying families to defray the cost of participation please contact [email protected] to make a confidential scholarship request.
